The construction of the Iron Age in the Victorian era served as a dump
On the island of Meinland, the largest of the Orkney Islands, archaeologists investigated the underground structure of the Iron Age. In the course of the work, it was found that the underground camera was opened in the 19th century and was then used as a place for a landfill. Similar structures, known in archeology under the French name Souterran , are characteristic of this era and are found in Ireland, Scotland, Cornwall and on nearby islands.
