Skiaparelli goes to meet Mars
Today, at about 17 hours 48 minutes Moscow time, it is expected to land on the surface of Mars of the descent Skiaparelli module, prepared by the European Space Agency and Roscosmos as part of the Exomars project. If everything ends successfully, then it will become the ninth spacecraft, which successfully landed on Mars. Previously, this was achieved by the Soviet automatic station Mars-3 (1971) and seven NASA devices (Viking-1, Viking-2, Spirit, Sujorner, Phoenix, Opportyunity, Kuriositi).
