Regular use of tea reduces the risk of cardiovascular disease
A large-scale study conducted by scientists from the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences provided evidence of a decrease in the level of atherosclerotic cardiovascular diseases and mortality with regular use of tea. Tea, especially green, serves as a rich source of flavonoids, primarily Epicatechin, catechin and epallocatechin-3-lilate. These bioactive compounds can reduce oxidative stress, relieve inflammation, improve the function of endothelium and cardiomyocytes.
