Typewriter Solo for a Forgotten Hero
Not long ago the phone rang in our apartment. A friend asked if we needed a typewriter for our collection. This often happens, the thing seems to be no longer needed, it gets in the way, and there is nowhere to put it, and you should throw it away, but your hand won’t rise. And then people call us. Take it for your collection, they say. And we don’t refuse. Even if this thing does not represent any historical value. Well, who knows what secrets a samovar, or a lamp, or a typewriter holds.

Are we changing the system or changing leaders?
“To be or not to be, that is the question!” I went through all the marches and rallies: I sat at the monuments to the heroes of Plevna, spent the night with Abai, and was a live microphone on Kudrinskaya. And I don’t even take into account the car pranks on Sadovoy, with a contraceptive on the antenna.

We are ready
Yesterday everything went according to the most ridiculous scenario . Neither police officers nor prosecutors showed a single intelligible paper, not a single order. They tried to penetrate the feminine with deception, fraud, blackmail and frank threats . And for some reason, they shook a photocopy of a custom-made article from one lousy newspaper, on which for some reason there was a seal of the duty officer of the Russian State Medical University in the Sverdlovsk region. Well, isn't it?

Prohibition on codeine-containing products. A catch and a big fig in the pants of the police
I didn’t even think about who and how would catch pharmacists selling codeine-containing drugs over-the-counter. It seemed obvious that the State Drug Control Service would catch those who like to climb on a crocodile. Ah, no. It turns out that the punishment scheme is murky and does not really frighten pharmacists. Yesterday I went on a type of raid. The Federal Drug Control Service together with the police checked to see if anyone was selling codeine directly at the workplace.

Bill Browder: "The bill should openly name names"
The United States Congress is discussing options for the Magnitsky Act. The law, which bars Russian officials implicated in human rights abuses from entering the United States and owning assets there, is expected to replace the Jackson-Vanik Amendment, which has been in place since Soviet times, restricting trade between the two countries.

The center of St. Petersburg is cleaned from people
Photo: Reuters If amendments to the city law "On meetings, rallies, demonstrations, processions and pickets in St. Petersburg" are adopted, all public and political events will be held on the outskirts of the city, in deserted places. On these specially designated sites, which the initiators loudly call the “Hyde Park”, and, according to their plan, will hold their shares of the St. Petersburg opposition. Putation does not agree with this.

Henry Reznik: "They began to take less often, but in a large way"
Photo: Sergey Mikheev/Kommersant - Now they often talk about the absence of competition in the courts. Do you agree that she is not? Well, firstly, what is the lack of adversarial process? I say to the lawyers: "Here you exist in this justice - so beat, fight and do not give up." And I must say that there are such things in which the protection wins the process. Everything is not absolutely, do not smear with one paint.

An effective way to combat household problems, bypassing official organs
I will say right away: it was not me who came up with it, but only experienced in practice. I wrote a lot in the dew on pits in our city, but the result is zero, even with the prosecutor's office. Therefore, he did this: I'm going past today: So go! Spray spray in your hands;) Original

Whom does Putin protect?
The mother of Sergei Magnitsky, who was tortured to death, issued a statement containing the following words: “I know that my son’s tissue samples were destroyed, despite the fact that from the first day I repeatedly appealed to the investigation with a request to preserve all material evidence, including his organs and blood. From the case materials it follows that the video recordings made in the Matrosskaya Tishina pre-trial detention center on the day of my son’s murder were destroyed.

Khimkinsky forest. Deputy check
Yesterday I took part in the inspection of the construction of the Moscow-Sank-Petersburg highway in the infamous Khimkinsky forest. Until now, workers and contractors do not have a single document according to which work could be considered legal. Despite the promises of Rosavtodor, the width of the clearing is not 100 meters, but more, in some places - almost 300.

"Uralochka" and the European Championship
A year ago, we hoped that the European Water Polo Championship would not bypass Zlatoust and our famous Uralochka swimming pool . However, it didn’t turn out quite like that... Championship games will not be held in Zlatoust. As sports journalist Anna Samoilova explained, the requirements of the championship are such that it is necessary to use two pools of this level - for games and training.
