Leonid Gergei prepared: on April 15, 1877, surgeon Valentin Feliksovich Voino-Yasenetsky was born in Kerch, and the archbishop of Luke in the spiritual dignity. A native of an old princely family, Voino-Yasenetsky during the Russo-Japanese war served as a military doctor, later worked in zemstvo hospitals. In the early 20s, under the name of Luke, he cut his hair in monks, was ordained a bishop. He was repeatedly subjected to arrests and links, spent a total of 18 years in exiles.
