Georgia and Azerbaijan banned poultry meat imports from Turkey
Georgia and Azerbaijan banned the import of poultry from Turkey to prevent the spread of "bird flu". In Tbilisi, all markets are checked. The city authorities, however, are not sure that the already sold eggs and meat of the bird passed a proper sanitary inspection. The European Union intends to prohibit the import of poultry products from six states bordering Turkey - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Iran, Iraq and Syria.
