Refusal of vaccination in Europe can lead to measles epidemic
In 32 countries of Europe, for 2006-2007, 12.1 thousand laboratory-confirmed cases of measles were recorded, including 7 with death. 85% of the diseases occur in only five countries: Romania, Germany, Great Britain, Switzerland and Italy. Most of the sick were either not vaccinated against measles or did not go through a full course of vaccination, while 20% of them were people over the age of 20 years.
