The collector and philanthropist Leonor Annenberg died
In California, at the 92nd year of life, the collector and philanthropist Leonor Annenberg died. In the early 1950s, Leonor and her husband Media Magnat Walter Annenberg began to collect the work of impressionists and post-impressionists. In their collections were the canvases of Cezanne, Monet, Renoir and Van Gogh. In 1991, the collection was transferred as a gift to the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Spouses Annenberg founded a charity fund to support projects in the field of education.
