In the southeast of Turkey, tens of thousands of Kurds participated in festive festivities on the occasion of Navruz, the day of the spring equinox, which the Kurds celebrate as the beginning of the New Year. According to Radio Liberty, Elena Solntseva, in the southeast of Turkey, where, mainly, the Kurdish population lives, the festive processions resulted in mass rallies of protest.
