In Cambodia, a tribunal working under the auspices of the UN Military Crimes completes this week the first process in the case of leaders of the “Red Khmer”. The trial of the former head of the notorious Tuol Sleng prison in Tuppen, where in the second half of the 1970s thousands of Cambodians and several foreign citizens were tortured in February. During the process, 67-year-old Kang Jeu, accused of crimes against humanity, said that he was forced to obey orders, fearing for his own life.
