Residents of Bavaria rejected Munich's application for the Olympics
Referendums in Munich, Garmish-Parthenkirkhen and two other districts of Bavaria, where separate competitions were planned by the possible Munich Winter Olympiad in 2022, torpedoed the Bavarian capital to hold the games. According to Radio Liberty, Yuri Veksler, 1.3 million Bavarians had the right to vote for or against Munich’s application for the 2022 Winter Olympic Games.
