Russia justifies the UN invasion of Ukraine with a letter of Yanukovych
On Monday, during an emergency meeting of the UN Security Council, convened at the request of Russia, the Russian Permanent Representative to the UN Vitaly Churkin read a letter dated March 1, which was sent to the President of Russia Vladimir Putin by the President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych. In this letter, Yanukovych asks the Russian president to use armed force to protect the population in Ukraine, where, according to him, people are persecuted on political and linguistic characteristics.
