Levashovsky cemetery is recognized as a cultural monument
The Levashov memorial cemetery near St. Petersburg was recognized as a monument of culture. The bodies of those executed in Leningrad prisons were brought here during the years of terror, here they were buried in common graves. In total, about 45 thousand people were buried in the Levashov cemetery, including such outstanding figures as the priest and theologian Pavel Florensky, the poet Nikolai Oleinikov, the writer Yuri Yurkun, the poet and translator Valentin Stenich.
