Part I. Stalin's funeral On March 5, 1953, a message about the death of Stalin appeared in Pravda - rumors about this went through Moscow for several days. By that time, the major of the American army, Martin Manhof, worked in the capital of the USSR for more than a year. Mankhof did not record his reaction to the death of the Soviet dictator. But the assistant to the military attache made much more for the story: he shot Stalin's funeral.
