In Israel at the 91st year of life, film director Mikhail Kalik died
In Israel, at the 91st year, after a serious illness, the Soviet and Israeli director Mikhail Kalik died, TASS reports . The director died on March 31, he was buried on Saturday in Jerusalem. Kalik was born in Arkhangelsk in 1927. He studied at GITIS, later at VGIK. In 1951, he was arrested on charges of Jewish bourgeois nationalism and terrorist intentions. The director spent three years in camps and prisons, after which he was rehabilitated. In 1971, he repatriated to Israel.
