The GRU agent exchanged to Russia asked for asylum in Estonia
Artyom Zinceco, archive The Russian Artyom Zinchenko, convicted of work on the GRU by a court in Tallinn and exchanged in Moscow, went back to Estonia and asked for political asylum there. He stated that after an invasion of Ukraine, he realized that he and Russia had nothing in common. This was told by the newspaper Eti Pitalecht. Zinchenko, who had a residence permit in Estonia, was sentenced to five years in prison in 2017.
