Spot. Maxim D. Shrayer - on anti-Israeli sentiment in Italy
I cannot shake off thoughts about love for Italy and about lost illusions. The happiest Italian episodes come to mind. My parents and I, former refuseniks, come to Rome in the summer of 1987 and celebrate liberation. I, twenty years old, on the anthracite Tyrrhenian beach in the campaign of Italian students, catching splashes of street Italian. And also Florence, Ponte Vecchio, where I stood for almost an hour, overdosing on all this incredible beauty.
