Translator of Italian poetry Evgeniy Solonovich has died
Evgeniy Solonovich Translator of Italian poetry Evgeny Solonovich died at the age of 92. “On February 11, 2026, Evgeniy Mikhailovich Solonovich, who trained more than one generation of translators from Italian at the Literary Institute, who gave Russian literature the best lines of Italian poetry, passed away. We mourn together with our family, friends and students,” says the website of the A. M. Gorky Literary Institute. Evgeniy Solonovich was born on February 21, 1933 in Simferopol.
