The miniocult has developed quite strict amendments to the Federal Law “On Information”, which allow copyright holders in a short time, out of court to block sites that violate copyright. On the federal portal of draft regulatory legal acts, the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation has posted a bill that amends Federal Law No. 149-ФЗ “On Information, Information Technologies and the Protection of Information” (regarding the protection of copyright and/or related rights on the Internet).

The need for such an adjustment of the legislation has risen for a long time, and the human rights activists demanded that certain steps towards its liberalization more than once. The Supreme Court of Russia considers the issue of mitigating punishment for repost of prohibited materials.

The Society for the Protection of the Internet (OSI) published a January study, according to which the index lost another 22 points. OSI conducted another study of the trends that occurred in January of this year regarding Runet. Unfortunately, the trend for excessive regulation by the state of Internet space in Russia is preserved, which clearly shows the fall of the “Internet of Liberty of the Internet” by 22 points.

The issue of creating cyber police in Russia to combat network crimes sent against children will be discussed in the Federation Council at the end of March as part of a parliamentary hearings.
