Anna Nemzer. Either high-tech or greenpeace
Either high-tech or greenpeace Anna Nemzer Publication date: December 28, 2004 So football experts have a choice in the “Discovery of the Year” nomination. Some people like Diniyar Bilyaletdinov from Lokomotiv, others like Yuri Zhirkov from CSKA. And in our music, I’m afraid, the group “Umaturman” will have to be called the discovery of 2004. It seems that the creative evolution of this team is that magical breakthrough from basement clubs straight to the New Year's Light.

Alexey Chadayev. She and he
She and he Alexey Chadayev Publication date: December 28, 2004 Death as a quote The Orange Revolution is full of hidden and half-hidden quotes. The orange on the banners is a reference to the red in the revolution a century ago. An inverted horseshoe and an exclamation mark included in its semicircle exactly in the middle (the emblem of Yushchenko’s campaign) is an allusion to the hammer and sickle, the two main erotic symbols of socialism.

When the power works against itself
The fall of Port Arthur a hundred years ago became a drop that overwhelmed the cup of public distrust to power. In less than a month, the first Russian revolution began. The strike of the workers of the Putilov plant, which laid the foundation for events, known in history as "bloody Sunday", was organized by a legal monarchical trade union.

it's paper, parchment and dust
A serene image comes to mind - me sitting under the cherry tree in the tiny central courtyard of the Cambridge University Library with a book in one hand and an almond cake in the other. On the grass next to me is an incredibly lovely girl. Eight million books surround us. Behind the walls on each side of the courtyard, books are lined up in dense rows, going hundreds of yards deep, and the length of the bookshelves is increasing by two miles a year.
