What remains when everyone is gone
"What's left when everyone's gone?" This should be the name of the genre in which Laura Letinsky, a Canadian photographer and professor of visual art at the University of Chicago, works. Still lifes in form, in essence, her photographs are studies of one basic feeling: the feeling of abandonment. Her compositions contain objects that were left behind after they were no longer needed; time moved on, but they remained.
