In the 20-30s of the last century, such a “South Russian school” was allocated-Babel, Kataev, Olesha, Paustovsky, Slavin, Kozachinsky, Petrov and Ilf. All these were few similar writers, very arbitrarily combined according to the geographical principle - the origin of Odessa. Many of them, moreover, were clearly overvalued - like the same Olesha, for example.
