The situation with Plato in Russian humanitarian knowledge is a separate, so far, a particularly unexplored topic that could attract the attention of sociologists of knowledge. But even without conducting special field observations, one can cite some of the essential characteristics of this situation - at least in several strokes.

Perhaps, among all numerous areas of artistic and theoretical thought, it is the new media with their aesthetics, problematic and philosophical prospects, most accurately reflect modern reality and meet the tasks of understanding the state of society and art. Therefore, the collection “Media: between magic and technology” today seems to be as a more timely and relevant publication as possible.

Very close to the time, Svetlana Fedorova’s book “Russian America: from the first settlements to the sale of Alaska” (M., publishing house “Lomonosov”, 2011) had just been published in its second edition.
