The white burden of the black president
In 1899, Kipling published a poem glorifying Western imperialism. Politically incorrectly entitled the “burden of the White Man”, the poem urged the peoples of the West to devote themselves to a noble task - to civilize the dark -skinned population of the Earth, which, in the opinion of the author, at the lower stage of development. Nowadays, similar views in the West, to put it mildly, are not in fashion.
