Kisa Vorobyaninov - our fellow countryman
Quite recently, on one of the “Walking Along Vyatka” walks along Spasskaya Street, I told the public about the dynasty of Elabuga merchants, the Stakheevs, who in 1879, with their own money, built a house church for a men’s orphanage in the city of Vyatka. The church has not survived, but the house at the intersection of Spasskaya and Marksa still stands, and if you look closely, the outlines of the “Stakheev gift” are visible even now.
