International Memorial collects funds to publish a book with the names of Polish officers killed under Katynya
In the year of the 75th anniversary of the execution by Soviet soldiers of Polish officers near Katyno, the International Memorial plans to publish a book of memory “Killed in Katyn”. This is a small list and brief biographies of 4,415 prisoners of the Kozelsky camp killed by the Smolensk Directorate of the NKVD in the spring of 1940. The research group from the Memorial attracted an extensive array of sources (Soviet, German and Polish), a significant part of which is used for the first time.
