Victory Day. Behind the cliche, songs, parades and salutes are the greatest tragedy. Russia defeated, but torn. After millions of compatriots killed and dead from the hunger, the war took its terrible harvest. The battles died out, silence for graveyards, the villages were depopulated, the cities were filled with poor young old people without limbs on the catals. Those who were at the front line were already remembered in old age, when memories were moved away.
