Embassies are closed in Moscow
Last week, the embassies of Uganda, Niger, Burkina Faso, Rwanda and Togo were closed in Moscow due to significant arrears for renting space and non-payment of utilities. “The list of defaulters includes 15 more embassies - chronic debtors, headed by Afghanistan,” Ivan Sergeev, head of the main production and commercial department for servicing the diplomatic corps (UPDC), told Interlocutor. UPDC negotiates with debtors as best it can.
