In the summer cinema Garage Screen, as part of the “Silver Copies” section, regular screenings of films from 35 mm film continue. On August 30, Alexander Sokurov’s drama “Mother and Son” will be shown there. Ilya Tomashevich, director of editing and leading teacher of the Moscow School of Cinematography, wrote an essay on this occasion about what film expressed in the world of the past, why it is hopelessly outdated in the present, and what it can give to a director in the future.
