Lost in translation: why it’s (almost) impossible to talk about racial, ethnic and cultural hierarchies in Russian
On April 27, 2021, the Anti-University hosted a lecture by Artyom Slyota, a researcher, activist, and creator of the dõst project on the politics of diversity in Russia, Central Asia and the Caucasus. The meeting participants discussed the language we use today in Russia to talk about race and ethnicity, how it is connected to Soviet times, and why it is difficult to discuss processes like BLM using this language.
