Abstract art is like a haystack, scattered over the theorems and stratagems of everything that exists, in an unsurpassed understanding of what is happening. Why switch to a red light if there is no green at all? Artists whose skill is not limited by the illusory constructive interaction with the nature of the absolute, always strive beyond the limits of learned experience. Like mollusks, they are again and again looking for a way out to the secret knowledge pass office.

In 1973, the Catalan architect Ricardo Bofill designed an experimental residential complex in the city of Calpe (Alicante, Valencia). Inspired by Arab architecture, in particular, the clay fortresses of Algeria and Morocco, he came up with the project La Muralla Roja — “Red Wall” in Spanish. Bofill worked on the concept of the project for ten years.

The inspiration for this body of work is one of the brightest artistic movements in Russian and European art of the 20th century — Suprematism. The term was first used by K.S. Malevich to characterise his abstract compositions, pure color planes in December 1915. In her Art project Artist, Maria Tatarnikova turns to simple geometric shapes: a straight line, a rectangle, a circle, a square. These figures serve as the prototype for all forms that exist in the real world.

This translation was made when the strange, scary and uncanny did not become an obvious part of everyday reality. Now many things in it are read differently - something has come closer, something has moved away.
