The New Year tree can be different, but in its design this tree resembles a house more than others. A Christmas tree as a building—this is the concept proposed by Japanese art director Yuni Yoshida for EDITION brand hotels in Tokyo. This year, guests of both locations - in Ginza and Toranomon - are greeted by an architectural tree: either a hut, or a castle, or a cathedral, or an entire city, with a delicate glow from the inside.

"The Lair of the White Worm" is, after all, truly the last great film by Ken Russell, and one that desperately needs a contemporary reassessment, as it still carries a persistent reputation as mere trash—with all the dismissive implications that follow—but nothing more. That said, my relationship with this adaptation of Bram Stoker by one of the greatest British directors of the last century has shifted from one viewing to the next.
