Introduction The screen displays: “I am in pain.” A line of text is present here first. Nothing more has to be fixed before interpretation begins. The line contains marks, spaces, and words. A person is not part of the line. Pain is not part of the line. Sincerity, deception, a cause, memory, a nervous system, and the absence of pain are not parts of the line either. This does not deny the person, the pain, or the cause. It marks the boundary between the record and what is attributed through it.
