On October 21, 2017, in Veliky Novgorod, within the framework of the European Week of Programming and the MEET and CODE initiative, the HacATON “Social Innovation - 2017” was held. It was attended by representatives of the NGOs, social entrepreneurs, students and PR specialists. First, Khakaton participants presented their projects and ideas to unite in six teams. IT specialists and experts joined each team who evaluated the work of the teams and helped them improve projects.

In 1985, the Puma-560 industrial robot came to the aid of surgeons and performed a biopsy of the brain tumor with an accuracy inaccessible to the human hand. Later, robots learned to conduct endoscopic studies, remove tumors and organs, and assist when prosthetics. In the early 2000s, the Da Vinci system appeared, which allows a number of manipulations. A four-handed robot under the control of the operator surgeon minimizes the area of ​​intervention in the body.

On October 13 and 14, 2017, in St. Petersburg, in the framework of the European Week of Programming and the MEET and CODE initiative, the HacATON of social applications “Sam” was held. Hakaton was held in the Olympus laboratory on the basis of the St. Petersburg National Research University of Iformation Technologies, Mechanics and Optics . For two days, beginners and professional programmers tried to find a solution to social and city problems.
