"Brazen Public Falsification": Putin-Backed United Russia Wins Primorye Elections With Scandal
The second round of the Primorye gubernatorial elections ended in scandal. At the last moment, the acting governor, United Russia member Andrei Tarasenko, who had seemingly already lost, won: after 97.8% of the votes had been counted, he was 3% behind communist Andrei Ishchenko. The Communist Party of the Russian Federation and independent observers consider the results to be grossly falsified.
