Sanctions with reservations: why new restrictions against Iran will not make oil rise in price
As of today, November 5, the United States has renewed the sanctions against Iran that were lifted in 2015. Donald Trump called the package of sanctions "the strongest that the US has ever imposed," and its goal is to zero oil exports from Iran. The imposed restrictions will affect the banking system, Iranian oil exports, shipping and other industries. According to US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, more than 700 Iranian entities will be subject to sanctions.
