Facebook gave out data to large companies, including Yandex, without the knowledge of users
Internal documents from the largest social network show that Yandex, Microsoft, Amazon, Spotify and other large technology companies received access to large amounts of user data from Facebook without the knowledge of the users themselves. In doing so, Facebook "exempted business partners from its usual privacy rules," writes The New York Times. The Microsoft Bing search engine, without the consent of the user, received the names of all his friends.
