Ukraine warned Russia about the consequences of gas supplies without a contract
The firmly forgotten tradition of the New Year's “gas war” of Russia with Ukraine is returning: the director of Naftogaz of Ukraine, Yuri Vitrenko, claims that Gazprom promised to “block the valve” from January 1, 2020. It is then that the current agreement on the transit of gas expires. “Naftogaz” promises that if the gas begins without a transit contract, Ukraine will not “overlap valves, stopping the flow of gas,” but will begin to be pumped into underground storage facilities.
