Protests in Hong Kong brought down local tourism almost doubled
In October, already six months, only 3.3 million tourists, almost double (43.7%) less than in October 2018 (5.8 million), visited by protests, TASS writes with reference to the Hong Kong tourism department. This is the largest decline in tourism in 16 years. Less often, tourists from Thailand began to come to the city (the flow fell by 60.2%), the Republic of Korea (fell by 59.1%), China (fell by 45.9%) and the USA (fell by 38.2%). Tourists from Russia became less only 22.9%.
