The number of Russians below the poverty line during the crisis approached 20 million people
During the pandemic in Russia, the number of people living below the poverty line increased sharply - according to Rosstat , in the second quarter there were 1.3 million more people. In the second quarter, 19.9 million people, or 13.5% of the country's population, had incomes below the subsistence level, which is 11,468 million rubles, Rosstat reported. Year on year, their number increased by 1.3 million, and compared to the first quarter - by 1.8 million.
