New bars have almost stopped opening in major Russian cities
For the year since November 2019, the number of bars on the walking streets of the five largest cities (Moscow, St. Petersburg, Kazan, Yekaterinburg and Novosibirsk) has grown by 5%. This means stagnation - the growth rate is six times less than a year ago, in absolute terms, seven establishments have increased in Moscow, and one in St. Petersburg. By the end of the year, bars in the country may be reduced by a third.
