The US Department of Energy allowed oil prices to rise to $173 by 2050
Under the most optimistic “high price” scenario, the cost of Brent oil could rise to $173 per barrel by 2050, follows from the annual forecast of the Energy Information Administration of the US Department of Energy (EIA). Now Brent, which has risen in price by 15.6% since the beginning of the year, costs almost $59 per barrel. In the base scenario, the cost of a barrel of Brent oil by 2050 will be $95, while the “low prices” scenario assumes $48, experts admitted.
