On Wednesday, on the 89th year of life, a businessman and philanthropist Dmitry Zimin, a scientist, the founder of one of the largest Russian mobile operators, Vimpelcom, died. After the sale of the Alfa Group business in 2001, Zimin took up charity work, his Dynasty Foundation sponsored the development and popularization of science in Russia, but in 2015 he was declared a foreign agent and stopped working in the country. 88-year-old Dmitry Zimin died in Switzerland, his son Boris said tonight.
