The trading year on US stock exchanges ends with a quiet record
2021 on the US stock exchanges ends on a high note, albeit not at the very highs, writes The Wall Street Journal. The "Santa Claus Rally" was realized in the past year, the newspaper writes: after recent highs, trading on December 31 will be calm, futures indicate an almost even opening (S&P 500, DJIA and Nasdaq 100 showed minus 0.1% before opening). The S&P 500 will thus see a 27% year-to-date gain, the most since 2019.
