"It's a very difficult decision." How and why the Russian command decided to leave Kherson
On Wednesday, the commander of the Russian grouping, Sergei Surovikin, reported to Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu about the need to withdraw troops from the right bank of the Dnieper (and, consequently, from Kherson). The report was broadcast by state channels, and soon posted by the Ministry of Defense. With the right bank of the Dnieper, half of the territory of Ukraine seized since the beginning of the war will be lost.
