Novatek equalizes stake in Northgas with Gazprom
Russia's second-largest gas producer Novatek has increased its stake in gas company Northgas to 50% from 49% as a result of an additional share issue, Novatek reported. Gazprom owns another 50% of Northgas; before the additional share issue, it owned a 51% stake. Novatek bought 49% of Northgas in November, paying the former owner of the stake, Farkhad Akhmedov, $1.375 billion. The deal allowed the company to increase its reserves and production.

Shanghai stock index falls more than 5% again
