The government did not support the ban on foreign bank accounts for state-owned companies
The Russian government has not supported the proposal to ban state-owned companies from having accounts in foreign banks; the issue itself may be considered at a government meeting next week, said First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov. "I do not support it in this form. In the extremely tough position described in the press, practically no one in the government supports this bill," Shuvalov said. The news about the Finance Ministry's proposal was published this week by Kommersant.

Crimeans to be compensated for loss of large deposits in Ukrainian banks by selling Ukrainian state property
Clients of Ukrainian banks in Crimea whose deposits exceeded 700,000 rubles will receive compensation through the sale of Ukrainian state property located in Crimea. This was reported by the acting head of the region, Sergei Aksenov. He also reported that 18 commercial Russian banks operate in the region, with 376 branches accepting clients. The Depositor Protection Fund will compensate Crimeans for the loss of deposits in the amount of up to 700,000 rubles.
