Heavy rains destroyed bridges, flooded populated areas and disrupted transport links. A state of emergency has been introduced on the territory of Chechnya to protect the population. The order was signed by the head of the region, Ramzan Kadyrov. The emergency zone included Grozny, Argun, as well as Gudermes, Nozhai-Yurtovsky, Shalinsky, Urus-Martanovsky, Kurchaloevsky, Vedensky, Itum-Kalinsky, Sharoisky and Shatoysky districts.
