The government agrees to exempt Central Bank bonds from tax
The Russian government has approved a draft federal law that exempts the Bank of Russia from paying taxes when issuing bonds, INTERFAX-AFI reports with reference to the government information department. For now, according to the law “On Tax on Transactions with Securities,” the Bank of Russia, when issuing bonds, is required to pay a tax on transactions with securities in the amount of 0.8% of the nominal amount of the issue.
