The trial in the case of the assassination attempt on Aman Tuleyev has begun
Viktor Tikhonov, suspected of preparing the murder of Kemerovo governor Aman Tuleyev, did not agree with the charges of “attack on the life of a statesman” brought against him yesterday at a meeting of the Novosibirsk Regional Court. He called the indictment “babble and verbiage,” saying it was “95% untrue.” Before, however, he pleaded guilty. The indictment announced during the hearing notes that 46-year-old Viktor Tikhonov, arrested in August 2000, confessed during the investigation.
